Assessment of student learning is through oral exams and grades are given on the basis of a 30-point scale. In the oral exam, students will be asked two types of questions. The first one is a general question to assess the students' capability of reformulating knowledge, of identifying and organising the main subject matters, and of using literary language to clearly and correctly expound upon topics discussed during the course. The second question relates to the reading and commentary some passages of the texts to assess the students' proficiency in understanding and interpreting a literary text.

Programma
Marino poeta ovidiano.
Marine poet from Ovid. The metamorphosis, a figure of the Baroque, finds in Marino its most brilliant interpreter, not only for his predilection for myths that tell of the instability of forms and the transformations of gods and men, but also for his ability to manipulate genres literary in the delicate transition from Mannerism to Baroque: the dedicatory letter that becomes a poetic treatise; the laudatio that becomes ekphrasis (The portrait of the Serenissimo don Carlo Emanuello); the poem that explodes in a kaleidoscope of fragments of exquisite beauty. After an introduction to Marino and Ovid's fortune between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, the course offers students reading and commenting on passages chosen above all from Sampogna (Atteone, Europa, Dafni, Siringa, Piramo and Tisbe) and from the Adone, with some forays into Rime and Galeria.
